IE 6 having problems with image download and display

Eddie

Hi, all:

I'm having two problems with IE 6 after installing the
last MS security patch:

(1) I can no longer save images as .jpgs. There are no
other type options in the dialog box except bitmaps. I
have tried to find a setting that I might change, but I'm
unable to find anything.

(2) IE Help no longer displays images. I see only boxes
with alt text and red x's.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Eddie

1. You cache is full so IE defaults to bitmaps. Delete all temporary
internet files and cookies.

2. This may be related to the first. If clearing the cache does not work, go
to View > Encoding and select Western European (Western).

One answer:

1. The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.
