IE 6 completely broken

The other night My girlfriend was shopping on the Adult Swim wesite. While
she was there she saw a link for a webcam and decided to try it. The link
returned 'page cannot be displayed" and at that moment Norton's antivirus
stated it's weekly sweep.

Since that night Every page I try with IE gives the page cannot be displayed
error almost instantly. There is no looking for tha page message. Just
click NO. I used tha browser from another program to access the internet at
it worked fine. I down loaded Firefox, and it worked fine. The two other
computers on the home network can both load pages in IE.

Going to the Microsoft web site to download a new IE was not a success. The
version I have is 6.0.2900.2180 sp 2. When I try to install the newly
downloaded IE from Microsofts site, I get an error telling me that becasue I
have a more current version, the installation cannot take place.

Any thoughts?
