You may be able to resolve the issue by resetting Web
settings in Internet Explorer.
Tools, Internet Options, Programs
"Reset Web Settings"

Also look at:- Tools>Internet Options/Advanced/Underline Links.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Click start/run
2) then type regsvr32 urlmon.dll (note there is a space between 2 and u)
3) Enter
4) Open Internet Options in the Control Panel, click the Programs tab
5) Then click the button Reset Web Settings.
Reboot your PC

Also if hyperlinks are not opening:
1) Click start/run
2) then type: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll (not there is a space between 2 and a)
3) Enter
4) now type: regsvr32 shdocvw.dll (again noting the space between the 2 and s).
5. Enter

Also check these settings:
Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol/Advanced/Edit.
Under Application used to perform action it should read:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" –nohome

That's really just a small window.
Windows remembers the size of the last Normal IE window closed.
Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.

I am experiencing the same problem... after uploading SP2 ... IE 6.0 will not
open a new window when clicking on a link that is set to bring up a new
window and it will not open a second window when you click on the IE icon...
you can see something flash really quickly and if you are fast and can click
the control key fast enough it might actually open it. I have tried all of
the things you have listed below and none of them have changed it. My pop up
blocker is disabled for IE and for Google.

HELP! Any suggestions as I really need to be able to have multiple windows
open at a time...

Hi Sandra,

Are you using Yahoo! Companion toolbar? Anyway, try disabling the browser extensions one-by-one and test.

Using ToolbarCop to remove the unwanted Toolband, Toolbar Icons and BHO:
