ID'ing Program Trying to Accesss Internet

T

TMitchell

I recently installed some new programs, Norton Ghost, SpySweeper, etc.,
and even though I disabled all options for automatic updates and other
obvious online connection options for the programs, something triggers
my dial-up browser connection upon boot up (W2K OS, Netscape browser).

What's the best way to identify which program/service is doing this so
that I can disable it? (I've exhausted the obvious opr\tions in the
porograms themselves, so there must be a less-obvious component of one
of them that is responsible.)

From a command prompt;

netstat -aon

now match up the PID > Image name found in Task Manager|Processes tab
