ICS with VPN

Hi, i would like to set up an ip phone that requires use of a vpn connection
to the network the phone system is on. I have 2 nics, one for internet and
one for the ip phone. After the vpn is connected, i can ping the phone system
no worries, but when i share the vpn with the ip phone's nic, it gets
assigned 192.168.0.1 and that resides on the remote network so no go. Can i
change this default address? Otherwise how could i get this to work?

The other situation i have is computers hanging off a router. Can i connect
the ip phone to the router then use a vpn connection on a computer connected
to the router and ping the remote network from the ip phone?

Cheers

Basically, it is not recommended to install VPN on a ICS. If you do, you may need to modify the routing manually. check this web page,

VPN Issues Do not install VPN on a system with ICS running ... The reason is that establishing a VPN connection on the ICS Host modifies the Routing Table on the ICS ...

Recommended or not, i have it running and it does exactly what i want it to
do :p

i shared the vpn before connecting it, then changed the ip phone's nic
tcp/ip properties back to dynamically assigned, then connected the vpn.

Thanks for the info and the reply.
