ICS problem with SP2

T

Therasa

After installing SP2, I lost ICS capability with my host. I have a WinXP SP2
desktop (host) connected to the internet via cable modem.

I have a WinXP SP2 laptop connected to the desktop via Bluetooth. I used to
have ICS working, until I downloaded SP2.

When I try to run Network Setup Wizard again, I get this message:
"Other computers cannot connect to the Internet through this computer.

In addition to its Internet connection, this computer must have a connection
to your network."

Also, when I look at Properties of my LAN connection, and click on the
Advanced Tap, there is no "Allow other computers to connect to the Internet
through this computers internet connection" check box. There are only
firewall settings. I have added UDP Port 53 to the Firewall exceptions.

Thoughts?

Hello Theresa,

You can enable ICS only when two or more network adapters
are installed.

If your computer has multiple private connections that
connect to private LAN segments, you should bridge the
private connections before you enable ICS.

If you would like to correspond further, I have created a
temporary email address you can contact me at:

(e-mail address removed)

Sincerely,

Craig
