ICS - Needed IP Address In Use

JC

I can't enable internet sharing on my LAN. I am trying
to use a Tunsgten T3 over Bluetooth. Bluetooth to
computer works fine, but when I try to enable internet
sharing I get the message:

"Internet connection sharing cannot be enabled. A lan
connection is already configured with the IP address that
is required for automatic IP addressing"

No lan currently visable seems to be the problem. I
think I have some old "bridged" connections that I
deleted, but are still sending indications their IP
addresses are not available.

Am I close? How do I free up the needed IP address - I
think it is "192.168.0.1" ?

Thanks

JC,

The address "192.168.0.1" is used by the ICS server. This is not easily
changed. You need to set the Bluetooth client to accept an automatically
assigned address, or at least, not "192.168.0.1".

Try and describe the layout of your LAN in some detail - maybe the solution will
become more apparent.

Thanks Chuck,

My Bluetooth is using a IP address of "168.254.xxxx", so
I don't think it is the problem. I thing a sharing
configuration I did earlier and then deleted is the
problem. I have successfully shared using this computer,
but deleted that configuration. I think that deleted
configuration is not totally gone. Windows still thinks
I have a shared connedtion using the required IP address.

My configuration is pretty simple

OK, JC, I see what you're asking about.

Your Bluetooth is not getting an ip address cause either it's not connecting to
your LAN, or cause there is no DHCP server (ICS server) to issue an address.
Probably the latter.

So, what is using 192.168.0.1? Please describe your simple layout. Let's start
with what you know, and work on what you think later.
