I turn on my computer and open a powerpoint presentation every morning. They
always open in a minimized, "restored down" window. I just want to save
myself that extra click and wait everytime. I just want it to open in a
maximised window.

I think you'll find the answer in this link
http://groups.google.co.in/group/mi...a96d5/1fcbd5c21a82813f?hl=en#1fcbd5c21a82813f

It mentions if you rename the extension as pps (instead of ppt) what
you want will happen. pps is the extension for powerpoint slide show

Of course "Hide extension of known file types" must be unchecked under
folder options > view tab.of explorer

Simplest way is probably to resave as a powerpoint show. Go to save as > save
as type > scroll down to "powerpoint show *.pps" Open by double clicking the
icon.

I didn't follow the link but your note and the other response solved the
problem. I didn't want the show to start automatically at the beginning but I
wanted it to open maximized and then I'd choose the slide where I wanted it
to start on that given day. By renaming it a pps.ppt it did this, and then
continued to open maximised the way I wanted it when I named it back to .ppt.
On another file I achieved the same result merely by naming it a .pps and
then back to ppt.
Thanks for the help.
