I still really need help

Yes, I have already tried to install several times using the existing
windows directory and still can not get in windows xp. As far as programs,
yes, I use all adobe which a few were not mine, all macromedia, windows
Office, corel, and as I stated alot of programming tools and languages.

I hope and pray we can find a way to fix this, like you stated I will be
reinstalling forever.

I wish there was a way to run restore from a command consule or via windows
2003 server or If there was a way I could get into safe mode. Right now I
do not want to make that partition windows 2003 because of what you stated as
well as I like windows xp better which is why I did all of my development
there.

Right now I would prefer to wait for you and see what you can find out for me.

One thing I thought might help in finding a solution is the last driver I see
trying to get loaded when I try to go into safe mode is ACPITABL.DAT hope
this helps.

Yes it does help, that's what I was asking for last week.

Try this: boot into 2003, rename C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\update.sys to update.sy_, reboot into XP.

Sorry I just read your message. I will have to try this when I get home this
evening. I am on my laptop right now. I was only getting as far as the line
before that until after you resent me the system.evt file.

I had done some checking looking up acpitable.dat and found out that it can
cause problems.

As stated I will try this once home and let you know how it went.

I tried what you stated and still could not get into windows xp. i do know
that before you resent me system.evt I know I was only getting to
appPatch/drmain.sdb, acpitabl.dat come after that. I can only see this
information when trying to go the safe mode and then I see the windows splash
screen and it goes not further.

When you say it goes not further, you mean that it just sits there with the splash screen? Is there any disk activity (drive
light)?


Try moving C:\Windows\System32\Config\*.evt to location.

Could it be some kind of peripheral device? Try disconnecting everything you can.

Try renaming C:\Windows\AppPatch\drmain.sdb to drmain.sdb_.


Of course, reboot between attempts, don't do all at once.
