I reinstalled XP to c:\windows2

I needed to not overwrite certain things in C:\windows. The computer
would not boot is why I needed a reinstall.

Everything is fine EXCEPT now, on my HP ZD7000 laptop, it says that
there is no audio device installed.
I have tried everything....all the codecs and drivers are functioning
properly according to the Device Manager.

Is there something that I can copy from the original XP installation
to The new one that will correct this problem???
