I/O Device Error - USB Device

J

Jerry Stern

When plugging my USB Flash Drive into USB port I get the
following error "I/O Device Error". I am unable to access
my SanDisk Cruzer Mini drive, and tech support says I
should be looking on Microsoft's site. I've found nothing
so far that addresses this problem. The flash drive works
okay on my other computer. The computer I am having
problems on is an older machine with only 64MB RAM and an
AMD K5-166 processor, but it used to work on it before.
Any suggestions?

Your older PC may not support the flash drive, therefore
you may need to load device drivers for it, check the
device web site for that information

Hi,
it's due to compatibility problem.USB Flash drive is not supported by
the old old machine.

What version of Windows are you running on this K5 based PC? Definitely not
Windows XP.

USB Flash Drive needs a driver and SanDisk only provides a driver for
Windows 96SE. Windows ME and XP are supposed to be included in the OS.
