I need help changeing my Lock down password

In Xp sp1 im having a big problem changing the password, I
just bought the computer yesterday I personaly took it out
of the box and set it up but I am having troubles changing
Owner to my name and the password to unlock it. Since I
dont know the password that the factory put into it and
cant find it in the manual or anything I have no clue how
do it. I would appreciate any help or subjestions you may
have as to what to do about it.

The Owner account can not be renamed or altered much. My advice is to creat
a new account, by selecting User Accounts from the control panel and then
deleting the Owner account. When I did this it did not have any adverse
affects on my computer, so i am assuming this is totally safe to do. Your
new account will give you full access to everything you need to do, but
remember to set it as a Computer Administrator account rather than a limited
account. This should sort out all your problems
