I locked myself out of my database. Can anyone help?

I spent all day creating a database and forms then when I was adding users
and workgroups, I didn't complete the workgroup portion and it locked me out
of my database. Now I get the message that I don't have sufficient access
permissions. I feel lost at this point because I'm not even sure how to
change my identity. Can anyone help?

Thank you,
Joyce

What specifically did you do? Run the security wizard? Just start adding
groups and users?

Yes. What version of Access?

Access 2003, and I didn't use a wizard. I created a new user using the User
and Group option under the tools menu. I'm not sure what I did next, but I'm
sure that I didn't complete whtever it was that I started. It may have had
something to do with the workkgroup administrator. I am sure that when I
clicked on the X to close whatever window I had opened, the whole db closed
and now I get the permissions error when I try to open the db. I tried
creating a workgroup and I've tried joining the workgroup, but how do I
associate it with the database if I can't get it opened? Is there a way to
specify a user name when opening a db? I know this sounds scatterbrained and
that's how I feel right now, but your help is appreciated.

Thank you,
Joyce

I found it and was able to open the db! Access saved the .mdw file as
system.mdw in the same directory as the db file and I was looking in the
default location in the office directories. Thank you for your time.

Here's the most important piece of advice you'll ever receive on this forum:
back up your files before attempting to apply user-level security.
