Hello everyone, I work with an Access 2002 database at work which requires a
password in order to gain access to it... I was trying to see if I could
change the password to the database becasue someone was corrupting it. In
terms I locked myself out of it and now instead of asking for the regular
password (which works for everyone else) is giving me my ID name and a
password to put in under it.

Does anyone knows how I can possibly gain access back to the database?

This is what I did;

Start Microsoft Access by using the workgroup the user account is stored in,
and log on using the name of the account for which you want to create or
change the password.
You can find out which workgroup is current or change workgroups by using
the Workgroup Administrator.

Open a database.
On the Tools menu, point to Security, and then click User and Group Accounts.
On the Change Logon Password tab, leave the Old Password box blank if a
password hasn't been defined previously for this account. Otherwise, type the
current password in the Old Password box.
Type the new password in the New Password box.

Retype the password in the Verify box, and then click OK.

Open the database and when prompted for a username password enter Admin as the username and whatever password you set. If you succeed, then return to the menus and reset the password for the Admin user to blank.

What you really wanted to change was the database password - same menu, but Database Password - not users and groups.
