I know this the wrong group but I need Hotmail help

Sorry to post here I know it's not specifically for Hotmail but I
couldn't find any group with Hotmail in the title.

I am trying to remove an address from the auto complete list. The
address no longer exists in the address book but it still comes up as
a choice when I type the frist few letters of the new address.

Where is this information coming from and how do I get rid of it?

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

Hotmail is a service, not an e-mail client. We don't know where is the
auto complete list because you haven't identified how you are accessing
(what client) your Hotmail *account*.

Could be you're accessing your Hotmail account using their web interface
(i.e., you use a web browser of which there are several). Could be you
are using Outlook and accessing Hotmail via POP or added the Outlook
Connector add-on to use Deltasync for IMAP-like access to your Hotmail
account. Could be you are using Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail.
Could be you're using Thunderbird, Eudora, Pegasus, Forte Agent, or some
other e-mail client. We don't know. You didn't say.

As a general reply to a vague question, try selecting the item in the
drop-down list and hit the Del key. Otherwise, check if there is a
cache of auto-complete entries that you can elect to flush through the
configuration of the unidentified e-mail client.

Cursor down to highlight it, then press Delete.
