I have the following error when I start the Server Service of XP

I have the following error when I start the Server Service of XP
"Could not start the Server Service on Local Computer.
error 2: The system cannot find the file specified."

However the file SVCHOST.EXE is there under system32.
Where can be the problem?
Any answer to this problem is highly appreciated.

I would check for the existence of system32\srvsvc.dll (and NTFS permissions
if any).
