have used window movie maker to transfer taped video from my ZR300 Cannon to
my Dell Win. Movie Mak. program. then it tells me its ready to save to CD
and when done my DVD player says it cannot recognize disc. I've wasted 6
writable cd's trying to download file and to no avail and have done it
exactly as instructed. I can watch them great on computer so why will they
not download to CD??????

You need to use third party CD burning software and create a VCD for it to
be viewable on your standalone DVD player.

Cari (MS-MVP) I'm dumb when it comes to this but thought the movie maker
program was suppose to do all of this. I first find out that I had to bye a
"Firewire" which I did then I got as far as getting tape on computer, now
your telling me there is something else involved, dosen't make sense. How
much more is it going to cost and then will I need something else??????

Windows Movie Maker is a small (and free) digital video editing program.

If you have a CD burner on your PC then it probably came with Roxio or
Nero... CD burning software. You must open that program, import the file
you saved with Movie Maker on your hard drive and tell Nero or Roxio you
want to create a VCD.
