I have a problem retrieving a document from Access 2003.

I keep getting this error message 'C:\DOCUMENTS\BOOKS' is not a valid path.
Make sure the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to
the server on which the file resides. I am not on a server and never have
been and Access 2003 will not retrieve the original file or backup copies
from a CD or 3.5" floppy. I would remove office from my PC and re-install but
I have a feeling that won't resolve my problem. Any suggestions?

Am I missing something? If this is not a response to a question then
how are you getting a path "C:\...." on a server?
