I have 2 Operating Systems

A while back I had Windows XP and I absolutely hated it.
So I decided to remove it and reinstall Windows 2000 Pro.
Not knowing how to do this I had a friend at work do it
for me.

Well, now when I boot up my computer it gives me 2
operating systems to choose from. Windows 2000 Pro or
Windows 2000 pro.

So now my hard drive has been split into 2 drives C and D
and obviously it is slowing down my performance and I want
to remove one of the operating systems but am unsure
exactly how to do that.

Can I simply just delete all the files that are in my
new "D" drive since I never use it? Or can I just delete
the drive D itself? Or do I need to completely start over
from scratch, reformat my drive and reinstall 1 version of
the software and lose everything I have on my current C
drive?

Please respond if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanking you in advance for your help,

Hi,
Are you sure that you have 2 "windows 2000 pro"?
You can remove any of the operating systems by simply formatting the
partition where it resides, then booting with the installation CD of the
remaining OS.
Choose "repair" for the remaining Windows installation, go to "Recovery
console" and type fixboot and fixmbr.
For the remains of the other operating system in the boot menu, you can
remove it from the boot.ini file that is in the root of the active primary
partition (probably C:\boot.ini)
For editing this file, red the instructions from
-for XP:

-for 2000:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=311578
I hope this would help.
