where does i.e6 save the autovisited url links, i can access the options or
even right click it on my desktop to view the properties. somehow it is
currupted or locked up by some script which infected it. one of the
malicious pop up scripts which even probably messed up my registry. how i.e.
alone is just managable. it would even let me update it.
so how can I delete these history files manually. safe mode didn't help
either

thanks

In C:\Documents and Settings\you\Local Settings\History

You can delete all the contents, if Clearing History in Internet Options
does not do it

There is also a registry key, which you can clear out in regedit.exe,
that holds one you actually typed in yourself, as opposed to visiting by
links. This ought also to clear with Clear History, but is at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
