I.E. crashing

As per Roger's advice, I downloaded Adaware & Spybote. Adaware found 2 Registry Keys and 9 files which were affected. I deleted them. Spybote found 3 more files, I deleted them. Then I ran a program called Bohem which didn't seem to do anything. As a last resort I reinstalled Windows XP, then unplugged my mouse, turned my computer off, plugged my mouse back in and turned on my computer. There is still EXTREME opening and closing of all windows and then the crashing is unreal! Its as though, as my mouse navigates over my screen, it is selecting programs and windows to open. I leave the mouse alone for about 3 or 4 min. and am left with anywhere between 8 & 10 windows open and they hang there for a few minutes until I do a control, alt. delete. Then I have to double click on I.E. to get back to surfing. At no time though, do I lose my connection. What can possibly be wrong?

Dou you use a wireless mouse? If so, try changing channels.

Hi Scooter,

It might be the touchpad if you are using a laptop.
Do you have speech recognition on?
Do you use Zone Alarm or XP's firewall?

Good luck
