I don't want custom bullet being added as attachment to e-mail.

I created a custom bullet in word and added it to the list of available
bullet and numbering choices. For some reason, this bullet is being inserted
into my Outlook express e-mails. I would really like to get rid of it, but
nothing I do seems to work. I have set it to use a template stationary, a
Times New Roman font, and no signature. It still inserts this bullet.

Can anyone help me out?

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.

You can also find some good Outlook Express information here:

Actually, I am using Outlook. I guess I was mistaken about it. Just to
definitely verify this, it was a part of the Microsoft Office XP
installation. I was just using Outlook Express recently and I guess that's
why I put that there.

Just to address my own issue a bit more, I have tried deleting the style
that I created with these custom bullets in Microsoft Word and that didn't
help. I also deleted the style in Outlook, but that didn't help either. If
uninstalling and reinstalling the entire Office XP software suite is the
easiest fix, could you let me know how to save all of the e-mails that
Outlook has put on my hard drive? I have some very important information
that I don't want to lose, and that's the very reason I am looking for other
alternatives.

http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm for information on backing up
your files.

However, to get rid of the style, find and rename normal.dot and email.dot
(Not sure if XP uses email.dot).

This solved my problem. I did have normal.dot and email.dot. I'm not sure
which one was the fix. I renamed them both. Thank you for the help.

Hi,

I have this exact same problem. Can you please tell me where to find the
normal.dot file and the email.dot file? Also, will this change anything else
with my email?

Which version of Windows and Outlook are you using?
Do you have Word set as your email editor?

The default location for normal.dot is;
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates\
Windows 7 and Vista: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
