I can't write picture files to a CD

V

Valbona

I am trying to write some picture files on to a CD. I have
tried this many times, both with recordable and rewritable
CDs, but it hasn't worked yet. I have written some
document files to a CD to back them up but I keep getting
an error message with picture files.

It seems like the picture files are being written and then
when it gets down to 0 minutes and a window says that it
is performing the final steps, it doesn't finish. Instead,
a window comes up, with the title, "Cannot Complete CD
writing Wizard."
Underneath it says, "There was an error in the writing
process. The disc you have attempted to write may no
longer be usable."

Any ideas on how to write these files? Most of them are
JPEG files.

Valbona,
Are you sure that you are trying to make a DATA CD?
jpg's should transfer onto CD just fine as data files.
Text files are also considered "data".
I have seen where people try to mix music files with data
files and burn them on the same disk and it usually won't work.
You also might go the the Burner Manufacturers web site and
see if they have some support for you.

Make sure the buffer underrun settings in your burning
software is okay.

Also in the past I found that it is best to defrag the PC
and also right click on my computer, go to properties and
do a disk cleanup, sometimes those pesky temp files are
clogging up the hard disc, not allowing the space
required for the burn.

And occasionally a reboot in between burns clears the
cache.

Good luck.
