Hi
I want to connect from a pc Win XP to another Win xp in a
lan with linksys like a router and dhcp , a modem dsl and
a lan without a server, can I use rdc betwen 2 pc's?
I connect with IP, username and password from one to
another and i receive this error>
THE CLIENT COULD NOT CONNECT TO THE REMOTE COMPUTER
REMOTE CONNECTIONS MIGHT NOT BE ENABLED OR THE COMPUTER
MIGHT BE TOO BUSY TO ACCEPT NEW CONNECTIOns
Can I use remote desktop connection without a
server? I have terminal services start and running
in both computers.
Thanks.

Maybe I misread your post. Is this over the private LAN or over the public internet? If it the
former case, then my original answer applies. If its over the public internet, look at this small
page that illustrates how to access more than one PC behind a Linksys BEFSR41 router or the XP ICF.
Modify as needed for your particular router...

You would call using the public IP of the router after making sure the appropriate ports are
forwarded...

Yes, as long as Remote Desktop is enabled on the target
PC, ie. the PC you want to control. Call
using the private LAN IP address. It helps to use static
IP addressing since a DHCP assigned IP
address can change when you reboot/restart a PC...

Make sure your *NOT* running any personal firewall
software on the target PC, otherwise you need to
