Using Outlook 2003 w/XP pro on a dell laptop. My e-mail works great at home
on a secure wireless net. But in hotel wireless nets I cannot send e-mail.
I get no response from serve. The computer acts like it thinks I am secure
but I am not and cannot find a switch to correct the problem.

Task 'gsbrown4@comcast - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The
operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If
you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).'
The server has no idea what my problem is.

You'll need to check with whoever provides that service. More than likely
they are blocking outgoing email. If your email provider accepts an
alternate port then you can also try that.
