I can receive e-mails but can't send them

It was suggested that I turn off my anti-virus for e-mails. I have both
Trend Micro Antivirus and Spy Sweeper as well as McAfee and don't really know
how
to turn any of them off so that I may send e-mail. I receive e-mail but can't
send I get the following message:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Re: just curious', Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server:
'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:
0x800CCC0F

Any help?

If your using Comcast your probably on their list of suspected spammers,
someone is using your ID and sending spam. Even though Comcast knows it's
probably not you the easiest way out for them is to block your out-going
email. They will play ignorant when you contact them, so good luck on getting
your problem solved. (been there)

Comcast made some changes in their email settings without telling
their customers. Follow these steps, beginning with step 10:
http://www.comcast.com/Customers/FAQ/FaqDetails.ashx?Id=2288

Note that the outgoing server now requires port 587 rather than 25.

The above may not correct your problem because "unexpected"
termination is usually caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Having more than one antivirus
installed on the same computer is not recommended, because each
tries to play 'top dog', and they are likely to interfere with each other.
I suggest you uninstall Trend Micro first since it does not require any
special uninstall technique. Reboot, then try Windows Mail again.

Spy Sweeper can also interfere with email, so go into its settings
and look for any email settings that can be unchecked.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
