I am using windows one care and now get this message and cant donw

This is the error message I tried to google this mesage but can find the
answers.
I am unable to download my emails alhough I can see them if I log onto my
isp which is BT Internet. They just wont download any know why ??

That's a timeout error, probably caused by some program scanning email.
Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.

i am using windows one care s my virus checker etc how do i stop this from
email scanning as you suggest. i cant find that option in windows one care

It's been 11 months since I used Windows OneCare. At that time it did not
have any settings for email scanning, and no one seemed to know if it does
email scanning. All I can say is that I had a problem with Windows Mail
11 months ago, so I got rid of OneCare. Maybe it was a coincidence, and
perhaps OneCare has been improved since then.
