I am using Windows Mail, but can't send - only receive;

I am using Windows Mail, formerly Outlook Express. My server is Bellsouth.
When I try to send an e-mail, I get an error report that the connection to
the server has failed.
I rechecked the settings, and everything seems ok. Any suggestions?

Clearwire has an announcement about migration to a new mail platform:

Doesn't that affect you? Their email setup instructions:
https://www.clearwire.com/support/help/pages/email_outlook_exp.htm
uses the gmail.com servers, which is different than what you have.

To use Windows Mail successfully, you will have to set it up with
Clearwire's latest instructions:
https://www.clearwire.com/support/help/pages/email_outlook_exp.htm

Those instructions happen to be for Outlook Express, but Windows Mail
uses the same email setup settings as Outlook Express.

I too am having a problem sending mail. I have used Windows Mail for over a
year and just started getting the following error message: "The connection to
the server has failed. Subject 'Re: Photography Proposal', Account:
'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'SMTP.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E" When I used
the same email account from the Comcast Site it will send the mail. I tried
the suggestions from the Help icon and also tried to download the patch.
Nothing helps!

Try the super secret Comcast port 587 setting...

follow the last steps... starting with 10.
