Windows mail can't send email

I am using Windows mail, and I can receive mail, however can't send. I have
checked and rechecked all the settings according to att/yahoo and Windows
mail and all seems in order. It has been working fine up until about 4 days
ago??? Personally I am not pleased with the overall performance and am sorry
I didn't go with outlook. Any suggestions in the mean time?

If not, check if mail you are trying to send stays in the Outbox for
an unreasonable time. If so, try moving these messages to the
Drafts folder or deleting them. Let us know if any refuse to do
either.

If that doesn't cure your problem, try to send yourself a short message
and, if this gives any error messages, right click on them and copy the
entire error messages to your next message.
