hyperlinks in shareview

I have to write an application which stores links to supporting documentation
(of all types).

The documents are held on shareview (sharepoint?) and will be in a variety
of formats (word documents, excel files, reports and memos).

Would access be suitable for such an application?. I was thinking of using
hyperlinks to point to each of the documents but am not sure if these links
would be preserved in shareview.

Can anyone give me advice ?

This depends on your needs, but why don't you use SharePoint? You can
built nice things with it...

Storing a hyperlink in the database should work fine. All the database is
doing is opening a browser and then
opening the hyperlink (just like if you typed in in your browser manually).

Not sure if Access is the best choice (it depends on what types of things
you want to do with the database).
You can build applications directly in Sharepoint as well for example, maybe
you don't need Access?
