Hyperlinked Document Hidden

In PPT 2007, hyperlinked documents open behind the PowerPoint slide, thus I
have to close the show view in order to see the document. Hyperlinked web
pages open in front, but not documents. Is this a problem with Vista or
PowerPoint 2007? Regardless, how can this be corrected?

Thanks for the feedback, but your suggestions will not resolve this specific
issue. I have worked with PowerPoint for over 15 years and have never had a
problem such as this with pre-2007 versions. Links to
server/Internet/Intranet based documents always opened in front of the
PowerPoint presentation. I often use PowerPoint in computer based training
development and load the .pps version onto the Internet or Intranet, where
user navigation steps must be simple. I have used the "Alt-Tab" function
often during the development phase, but once released in the Internet or
Intranet setting, it is not preferred and can cause navigational issues.
Besides, why should one have to use Alt-Tab in 2007, when it was not required
in earlier versions. 2007 should be an enhancement, not a step backward.

To verfiy that this was not a Vista issue, I put the links in Word, and they
have all opened in front without failure. Are there settings in PowerPoint
2007, such as "open in a separate window", or open "on top" that need to be
changed, and, if so, where do I need to go to do that? I've looked everywhere!

Yes, I did...even loaded it to the Intranet for testing with the same...even
worse results. It locks up the Intranet because the little box asking if you
want open or save also opens behind the presentation locking everthing until
question is answered! I could get out of it, but most of my users will not
know what to do and take it out on me!)
