removing all headers and footers

I am working with someone who sent me a chapter with the endnotes that have
hyperlink formatting in them. How do I change this odd hyperlink formatting
just to normal non-hyperlink type. I cannot even click on the hyperlink type
without it taking me to the Internet. I have tried to select all -- and then
change the style but that is not permitted, since I go to the web on each
one??

Right-click on the link, remove hyperlink.

that would be too much work, I have hundreds of them to change in numerous
chapters of a long book. Is there a way to do it all at once, like with
styles?

Well, the first thing to do might be to reenable "Ctrl+click to follow link"
so that you can edit the links without following them. Alternatively, Alt+F9
to display the HYPERLINK field, then search for ^19 HYPERLINK. This search
will select the entire field.

1. Click "Find in" and select "Current Selection" (if you've selected the
notes) or "Main Document" or "Endnotes" (if it's offered)--whatever
works--and Word will select all the instances it finds.

2. Click the title bar of the document to return focus to the document.

3. Press Ctrl+Shift+F9 to unlink the selected fields.
