Control Panel - Internet Options - Programs - 'Make Default' button under
Default Web Browser.
Try clicking a hyperlink in Outlook.

If something is unclear, please let us know what version of Windows and what
version of IE you are running, or what web browser you are using.

What web browser? IE? Firefox? Opera? What does it say if you go to
Control Panel - Internet Options - Programs under Default web browser?

If you open up word, type in http://www.cnn.com and control-click on it,
does it open correctly?

Many of us prefer to use another browser as our default, rather than IE. I
was having the same problem in Outlook 2007, using Firefox as my default
browser. SOLUTION: Open Firefox browser before clicking links in Outlook.

It is called *troubleshooting*, sir. If what I said above fixed the
problem, then I would have continued to troubleshoot it to get whatever
browser the OP wanted to use to work.

FWIW, I use firefox almost exclusively. I do not have to start Firefox
before clicking links in OL.
