Open the other site in your browser, then copy the address and pasted into the FP hyperlink dialog.

Get this same error message, but it is coming when you click on the web
hyperlink button. When you are trying to set up a hyperlink to a web site.
The box does not open to be able to put the pasted web address in. Anoying
to say the least.
Happened after the last updates from Microsoft. Where do I change the rights
in the Registry so this works like it did before. Am not using Microsoft
Exchange.

Thanks for any help that I can get.

Don't use that feature, instead open the remote site in a browser and then copy and paste the
address into the hyperlink dialog.

I'm getting the same message in FrontPage 2003, and all of my 2007 Office
Professional programs. It sure was nice to be able to browse to a web site
from within the application, is there a cure?

I'm having this same problem in Front Page. When I try to create a hyperlink,
I can't get the browser window to open. I've tried the suggestion of opening
it on a separate screen, not in Front Page, then copying and pasting the
address, but it won't even let me paste anything into the Address bar,
period. I keep getting "An Error occurred while browsing files". I was last
able to use this feature without any problems about 3 weeks ago; On Dec. 19,
I did an Office update, and when I tried to use the Hyperlink feature in
Front Page a few days afterwards was when I first started having this
problem, so I deleted the update hoping it would make a difference, but it
hasn't. Does anybody know what is going on? I can't make hyperlinks at all
with Front Page now and I need help.

Open the hyperlink dialogue in FrontPage

Open the web browser and browse to the page you wish to link to.

Highlight and copy (ctrl+C) the address in the browser address bar.

minimise the browser window (- button on top right) so that the FrontPage
window can be seen)

Click in the Address space of the Edit Hyperlink dialogue - the address from
the browser may automatically appear in the address space, if not type
Ctrl+V to paste the address in (right-click choose paste does not work in
all versions of FrontPage in this dialogue).

Thanks very much, Ronx,
It worked this time using the Control V function. It's strange that it
stopped accepting the right-click because that was what I've always been
using before, but at least now I can add the address.

Right-Click paste was removed from the hyperlink dialogue in FP2003, but
worked in all previous versions, and all other dialogues.
