Hyperlink Excel to Powerpoint

I would like create a relative hyperlink between a specific cell in an Excel
spreadsheet and a text box in a Powerpoint presentation. Both files are in
the same folder. I can create a link by copying the cell, going to
Powerpoint, and using Paste Special/Paste Link/Excel Worksheet Object.
Unfortunately, the link is not relative. If I resort or filter my worksheet,
the cell moves, but the PowerPoint link continues to point to the originally
assigned cell. Any ideas on how I can get the hyperlink in PowerPoint to
follow the cell in Excel would be appreciated.

Two ideas:

- I just did a quick test of this. YMMV but if you select the content you want
in Excel and make it a named range (Insert, Name, Define) then copy and
paste/special, link to PPT, the link points to the named range, not to specific
cells and Excel takes care of tracking the range even if it moves around in the
sheet.

- Another possibility: put your data wherever you like in the workbook but
copy/paste the specific cells you're interested in to a different sheet in the
workbook. As long as the cells there remain undisturbed, PPT will always point
to the right place, and Excel will track the link from there back to the
original source in the worksheet.

Very creative idea! I tried both methods and both work perfectly. Steve,
you're a wizard!

Glad it worked out well. Just don't pay any attention to that Reilly thing behind
the black curtain over there. ;-)
