HTML features don't work in Office Outlook; it's all in one line

Everything was working well. I don't know how to fix whatever settings were
changed. When I type a new message, forward, or reply, my words look more
like a plain text msg with no formatting. Everything appears on one line and
doesn't break/return after the page width to return to the next line. I hit
return manually, but that isn't right.

I DID have to switch fonts... but both the old and new ones are true type
fonts. I didn't change any other settings.

Which version of Outlook are we talking about here?
If pre-Outlook 2007; Are you using Word or Outlook as the e-mail editor?
Does switching it makes a difference?
Tools-> Options-> tab Mail Format

I have Professional 2007. I THINK something happened with an update... I
had on the readability and spell check features, and they seemed to have
left, too!
