HTML and .asx files

I am using FP 2002. I currently have a website devoted, in part, to music.
Actual recordings of the artist. I want to protect the music from any
downloading. I have converted the MP3's to .asf files, further have created
the .asx text file which appears in the html coding of the web page. I have
also enabled the 'no right click' on the pages, (yes, I know, all one needs
is a web page editor to access the page).

Have I done enough to keep viewers from accessing a song and downloading it
from my site?

I apologize if this question should be directed elsewhere...frankly, I am
scratching my head as to where.

Thank you
Norma

If the music is played on a visitors computer it is already downloaded.

Uh, OK...I sort of relate to this. Downloaded to where on the visitor's
computer?

My specific question. Does the viewer now have a copy of this song on
his/her computer? I understood that the viewer listens to the song via
streaming from my computer. More specifically, I am trying to protect the
copy rights associated with the song.

browse to your web, listen to a song, then look in your temp internet cache
on your machine

Bob, is correct.
You did fine. For streaming media the song (the complete file) is not
downloaded to the user's computer. It comes down in pieces that the
player can stream together to play it.

Of course, some people can use capture utilities to capture streaming
media. But the average user does not know how to do it.

I didn't think so either, I meant that as a method to check...speaking in
abbvs 2day.

|I don't think streamed media are stored on the hard drive.

I did check my temp files and could find no evidence that the song I
listened to, (from my website accessed via internet) was anywhere. I truly
appreciate your in-put.
