HP Recovery D drive less than 15%

My D drive has only 8% free space and therefore is unable to to be
defragmented.
I'm unable to open anything to as all that appears is a pad lock with
recovery, when I click all its says is dont tamper with, but Im unable to
undo or see anything.
Also my system restore is not working. any info advice

your title says it all..............HP Recovery Drive....(which when used
would turn your system back to when 1st purchased).......which should NOT be
used for any other purpose and as such has no need to defrag.
As for System Restore under XP try turning it off....reboot and then turn it
back on and see if that works.be Aware that doing this will erase all
restore points..
Notice the difference....Recovery Drive...........System Restore.
