HP officejet 600 all-in-on

I went to install the HP 600 driver for the printer. It
would not install. I contacted HP. They told me there is
an error in the Microsoft Operating System. So that is
where I am. I should contact Microsoft about this bug.
I can not connect my computer to my HP Officejet 600 all-
in-one printer.
This all started because I bought a new Dell computer
with Windows XP Home Edition. My printer was working
fine with my old computer, which had Windows 98.
Please help me. I do not want to have to buy a new
printer. The one I have is like new. It does not get used
that much.
I hope someone can help me. Jackie

Did you contact Dell? They're usually pretty good with
answers. Or, you could get a new driver CD for the
printer..maybe there was glitch in it. I'm using an HP
570 4 in 1 that was bought to go with an old computer
that ran Windows 95. I now have a new computer with XP
and the new driver made it work fine.

I don't think that there is any help for you, short of buying a
compatible piece of hardware. It has something to do with
the way that HP wrote their drivers and JAVA that MS is
no longer able to use. My experience is that my psc can
only be installed on a WIN 98 or W2k before any service
packs are installed. It will work on my XP box, but it is
not fully functional.
