tray, in the driver or printer, how do i set so that it will take paper
from the manual tray if it's open and loaded (with letterhead) if not take
from any other tray which just has A4 in it?

any ideas?!

There should be a place to select 'paper feed' in the print dialogue. (I
have the same printer.)

cheers,

It varies between printer drivers.
You need to set the tray information in the driver (control panel/printers).
If you are using WinXP you may have to do this from two different places, Win98
only needs it done from one place.
Right click on the lj2100 icon, select Properties and find the place that
defines what is in each tray (If you have three trays they should all be
enabled), select Letterhead and A4 for tray 1 (Manual feed tray), and plain A4
or whatever is in the other two trays, if both are set the same it should
automatically feed from tray 3 and then tray 2 when tray 3 is empty.
Now if you are using WinXP, find printer Preferences and make sure that is set
up the same way. Don't think I have forgotten anything.
In your appliication you may need to do this again or with some applications
just select Letterhead for the first page and Plain for subsequent pages.
The whole process is printer and application dependant so you need to make sure
that you don't miss any properties or preferences.
I don't have a 2100 available at the moment but I have set this up many times
in the past to print A5 from the manual tray and A4 from the other tray(s), the
application then has to be set up to match.
