HP 2100m problem with paper jam/multiple feed

Hello,

I have a 2100 laser printer (about 7 years old) and paper get stuck as
soon as it gets in from the tray. the printer also takles more then
one sheet of paper from the manual fed area). Are these two separate
problems ?
I removed the tray and I can easily pull the paper out. Its only
about 1.5 inch in. Do I have to change all the rollers. I saw some
kit, pick pick up roller and transfer roller, will that resolve my
problems ?

thanks

Ken
Here is a link with a maintenance kit, is this any good for me ?

They are separate issues.
You don't need the transfer roller unless you are having poor print quality.
The transfer roller is probably the most expensive of the rollers in the kit.
You do need the following parts - one of each
RB9-0695-020CN Tray 2 Separation Pad
RB2-2891-000CN Tray 2 pick up roller
RB2-2900-000CN Tray 1 pick up roller
RB2-6348-000CN Tray 1 Separation Pad
They can be seen
at http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/main
(enter your country and the model number etc.)
and can be ordered from HP, there are other places also that you can buy from.
Note that part numbers change from time to time so the numbers in the website
you pointed to are not necessarily contradictory.
None are really hard to replace. You can download the service manual from
http://www.hylink.com/PrinterManual.html.
Before you go further, when you remove the paper from tray 2 examine the edge
that was in the printer, if there is a small kink you may have an obstruction
(small piece of paper), if there is no kink the roller and pad need changing.
The tray 1 roller and pad definitely need changing anyway.
You can clean the existing rollers and pads but it won't last.
Good luck
