hp 1160

When I install a hp 1160 printer on a windows xp laptop it installs
the driver but will not print. I have tried several
drivers. I did install the printer on another windows XP
machine and it worked fine so I know it is an issue with
this laptop and not the printer.

What do I do next? The printer acts like it doesn't receive the
job but no error comes up or anything. The print job just stays
in the print que saying a status of "printing"

thanks!

It is connected via USB. I thought this was the problem because
if I go into the device manager the printer port is set as LPT1.
There is no USB option. I also looked on the driver by going to
properties and there is no USB option. What am I missing here?

Thanks!

Are you positive the USB ports on the notebook are working correctly?

You should install the software BEFORE you connect the printer to the PC...
or you have to do an uninstall/reinstall.
