how write files and folders to a dvd disc

G

Guest

I have a few folders which I would like to back up to a dvd disc (these
folders are about 3.5Gb in total, which is why I don't want to use a CD disc).

Can anyone tell me how to do this? Do I need any special software to do it?
The only option i am getting at the moment is to send them to the built-in
CD drive, but that won't qwrite to DVD's.

Please help.

You need a DVD drive that can write to DVDs. Usually, there is software
that comes with the drive that will burn data to DVDs.

Follow the instructions of whichever DVD burning software you obtain
and install.

Yes. WinXP has no native capability to burn DVDs. I recommend
CDBurnerXP Pro (http://www.cdburnerxp.se/), if you're on a budget. It's
quite useful for freeware.

You need two things to write to a writeable DVD disk:

1. A DVD writing drive

2. Software that writes to such a drive.

If I understand your message correctly, you have neither of these. If
you want to do this, you need to acquire both.

As an alternative, you might want to write to five or six CDs instead.
