Hello,
Is there any one out there knowing how to connect a PC to a cellphone
and then dial to an ISP to connect to the internet? I have a computer
with an internal modem, a cellphone and know a free ISP's phone number.
My cellphone account has unlimited minutes after 9pm thus I want to use
my cellphone as a phone line to connect my computer to the internet.
Please guide me how to do that?

Thanks

If it's possible you'd need a special adapter to connect the cellphone to
the computer and that adapter would have to come from your cell carrier or
phone manufacturer. Most cellphones don't support being used in this
manner.

You need a serial/USB cable that connects your fone
to your computer. The fone itself then becomes the modem,
you don't use the modem in your computer at all.

If your fone has Bluetooth, you can get a Bluetooth adapter
for your PC and connect the fone to it that way.

See your fone service provider's web site
and fone mgfr. web site for instructions and hardware
needed.

Hi

Cell phone lines are Not like regular telephone line.

Even if you have a Modem and Cell phone adaptor etc. you will not be able to
get an Internet connection unless you Cell phone carrier have a system that
supports Internet service.

So your first step is to contact your cell phone carrier and find out what
are the options (do not be surprise if there is none).

Not necessarily true. I can get a slow (14,400) connection by dialing
my ISP just as if I'm doing it at home. No special hijinks required.

I have been able to do this all the way back to my Motorola
bag phone (10 years ago) through 5 different other phones and
3 different service providers. None of them required any special
config. on the provider's end.

Now, if you meant that if he wants HIGH-SPEED connectivity,
he'll need to jump through hoops, that's another matter altogether.

Hi Green,

I am using a RAZR V3 of Motorola and Cingular. What should I do to
connect to the internet through the cellphone?
Thanks
