How to turn off "Auto Insert" in XP?

How can I turn off "Auto Insert" and/or "Auto Run" for
CD, ZIP Disc and Floppy in XP Home Edition.

I really dislike having a dialog box popping up
when ever I insert a CD, ZIP Disc or Floppy.

Thanks in Advance,

option 1: access the properties of the programs you want
to disable or shut off the banners. There should be a
box to click to shut off the pop up banners at pc start
up.
option 2: start up menu/run and type in msconfig. click
the "start up" tab and unclick the programs you don't
want started up when you turn on you pc. You'll have to
manually start these programs when you want to use them
by going to your list of programs. It'll tell you to
reboot your pc in order to activate the changes. Go
ahead and do this.
These are the two things I do. Hope this helps.

Be careful on doing it for a device you may want to write to, or you may
find a empty disk is not noticed. This *especially* applies to CD
burners. To do it, Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you
have installed XP SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP!, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its My Computer - Autoplay - Drives page uncheck the letters concerned
