How to Transfer Large Files Between W2K Non-networked Computers?

T

Is there a tutorial or a "Windows File Transfer For Dummies" somewhere
that can guide me step-by-step on how to transfer large files between
two W2K machines (one laptop, one desktop) that don't have ethernet/LAN
network cards? I recall something about using the serial or parallel
cables for a direct connect (one is slower than the other, but I don't
recall which), but I do not know the steps to take to set everything up
properly on both computers to allow this type of direct file transfer.
Can someone kindly help me on this, please?

Thank you.

Do you have USB ports? You could use a USB memory stick if the files
are small enough. My USB memory stick holds 128MB but there are ones
that are larger than that.
