how to stop msn messenger popup?

I have windows live messenger v8.1.

And whenever I double click the little icon, another ad windows popup. Is
there a way to stop this pop up? Thanks

Hi Lamb Chop,
I'm guessing you mean the "Live Today" page. Try:

Tools / Options / General tab:

Uncheck: Show windows Live Today etc.

I hate bloody adverts as well ;-)
