How to Stop Downloading Multiple Copies of Each Email

T

Ted Mercer

Recently I installed Vista and tried Windows Mail for awhile but abandoned
it, having concluded that it is loaded with errors and not yet ready for
general use. Previously I was very happy with Outlook Express when I was
running XP.

I am now using Outlook with Vista but am still having a few learning
problems.

I have 3 internet accounts setup; the same as I had previously on OE. I am
receiving 3 copies of each incoming email instead on one. Under OE, the
account Properties page, General tab, has a box, "Include this account when
receiving mail ..." that I only selected for the Default mail account
thereby restricting the downloads to one.. I cannot find the equivalent
option in Outlook.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Apparently these "three" accounts are all aliases of eash other and not
really separate mailboxes.

While viewing your Inbox, press ALT-CTRL-S. This prings up the Send/Receive
Group dialogue. Select your Send/Receive group (probably "All Accounts" and
click Edit. Select the second account and uncheck the "Receive mail items"
box. Repeat for the third account. Click OK, then Close
