How to specify multiple Custom Search Folder Criteria?

I want a search folder that only includes items for the last 7 days, but NOT
items from user=baduser, and NOT items with subject text=badsubject. Criteria
I specified (advanced tab under custom search folder criteria):

Received in the last 7 days
Sent in the last 7 days
From doesn't contain baduser
Subject doesn't contain badsubject

The folder still includes items from baduser, and still includes items with
badsubject. I tried F5 key and changing selected folder multiple times.
Problem persists. I searched MS knowledge base and forums and found nothing
on this issue.

Am I doing it wrong? Is there a solution? Any ideas?

Is bad user the display name or email address? Try it with display name. It
works for me with display name.

If you can't get it working with the display name, try the query builder
instead. It gives you better control over AND and OR statements. See

Thanks a bunch Diane, the query builder did the trick. Actually, I have never
used filters in Outlook until now.

You have saved me lots of wasted time (I need to scan the search folder
every week and getting the filters to work will save me 5-10 minutes each
time).

As for the display name question, I did try it that way but it still didn't
work.
I guess the problem was that since the custom search criteria didn't have
the AND/OR option, it defaulted to whatever gave the most results (which
wasn't what I wanted). A good new feature candidate for Microsoft maybe?

While an AND/OR option is often requested, they have QueryBuilder and SQL,
both of which can do proper AND OR statements, so I don't expect much to
change. It would be nice if querybuilder was exposed in the interface
though.
