How to save this ghost image???

I'm trying to extract some files from a Ghost image but am getting
unsettling messages.

My laptop drive seems fried; no problem since I backed it up just 2
weeks ago, right???

I backed my laptop up to my desktop over my network, spanning the image
across files small enough to fit on CDs if needed. All 10 files are in
the same directory on my desktop. Ghost explorer asks me to designate
the final files in the image. It gives me what appears to be a full
directory of my laptop files. I try to extract a few files and it says:

"Unable to open image file segment 7. Please Change disk or cartridge"

OK, I try to extract ALL the files in the image. It seems to extract
all the files from image file segment 1 just fine. Then it tells me:
"Unable to open image file segment 2. Please Change disk or cartridge"

The next step, I suppose, is to try and "restore" the image to a new
laptop drive, but I don't have a big enough one handy. Any suggestions
as to what's wrong and how to get out of this?? Thanks!
